Which software meets your requirements?

Compare two options against your own tests. Weight what matters, keep must-haves visible and download the evidence with your result.

No account needed. Six editable criteria. CSV download and a printable result.

Hypothetical example: option A scores higher on shared criteria but fails a must-have. These are invented options, not observations of real products.

Estimated

Calculated from your observations, not a rating of a vendor. Scores use only criteria answered for both options.

85% shared evidence coverage · 85 of 100 weight points included in both scores.

Option A

82.4 / 100

Partial evidence. Resolve the gaps before comparing the full fit.

Must-have requirements

Not met: Access and administration.

Still to check: Data export.

Option B

76.5 / 100

Partial evidence. Resolve the gaps before comparing the full fit.

Must-have requirements

All selected must-haves meet your stated test.

No unanswered criteria with positive weight or a must-have flag.

A higher score does not override a failed or unresolved must-have. No winner is selected.

Your criteria and observations

Preparing for a vendor meeting? Build a demo plan with repeatable tasks.

Agree the tests and weights before rating either option. Rename criteria to match your task. Use weight 0 to exclude a preference; a checked must-have still applies.

How to choose a result
  • Meets: your defined acceptance test passes.
  • Partly meets: only part of the test passes, or a workaround is needed.
  • Does not meet: you tested the requirement and it fails.
  • Unresolved: you have not established the answer. Missing research is not a failure.

A must-have passes only when its result is Meets. Record the exact plan, test and source in the evidence notes.

How the decision matrix works

Meets = 1, Partly meets = 0.5, Does not meet = 0. An unresolved answer excludes that criterion from both scores so they use the same evidence and denominator.

Score = 100 × sum(weight × result) ÷ shared weight. Shared evidence coverage = shared weight ÷ all selected weight × 100. Weights need not add up to 100. No shared evidence means no score, rather than a zero.

Must-haves are checked separately, including those with weight 0. The score never cancels a failed or unresolved requirement. Results describe your inputs, not independently verified product quality.

Common questions

Why can a high-scoring option still be unsuitable?

An average can hide a failed essential requirement. This scorecard keeps those failures beside the score so you can resolve them before making a commitment.

Does the scorecard use product ratings from the catalog?

No. You enter observations from your own pilot and source checks. Use the documented product comparison to decide what needs testing, and keep the source and scope in your notes.

Can I share or keep the result?

Download the CSV to review it in a spreadsheet, or print the result to PDF from your browser. The URL does not contain your entries and cannot restore the scorecard.
